Coming of Age Rituals in the Americas: Internationalization Assignment 3

Assignment Prompt For this assignment, I want you to think about what it means to come of age in your culture. What coming of age ritual did you (or will you) have to perform in your culture? What does this ritual say about the beliefs and values of your culture?. We definitely have some big rituals, so you can pick more than one if you want. But remember that the key focus is to reflect on what these say about your culture's beliefs and values. If you're having trouble thinking of anything, then take a look at this video, which shows a well-known coming of age ritual in Central America / Mexico. Freedoms and Liberties - Internationalization Assignment 4

Assignment Prompt Think about the liberties and freedoms (and limits to these) in your own culture. Don't just say, “Freedom of speech,” unless this is something you exercise. Focus on freedoms that you actually rely on. The focus, remember, will be on what do your liberties (or lack thereof) say about the values, beliefs, and customs in your culture? If you're having trouble thinking of examples, then take a look at this video , which documents what life is like in Communist China.
